Illusion

If you hold on to the handle, she said, it's easier to maintain the illusion of control. But it's more fun if you just let the wind carry you.

Slackers unite

"Congratulations, your career is Slacker!" it used to tell me when I played The Sims with friends obsessively for a short period in high school (yes, I was that cool). I usually got mad and started over - trying to reach something a little more high-rolling, since you didn't make many Simoleans being a Sims Slacker. Now, however, one day back to work post-3-week-long-vacation, I've decided I could be the happiest Slacker you'd ever meet. I am not one of those people (like many I knew in college) who has to be busy all the time, constantly doing something stressful. I'd much prefer spending my days volunteering, cooking, exercising, and yes Dear, even cleaning. That is of course, without anyone forcing me to do so, and with no otherwise adult obligations (like children).

For now I will stick to being a Slacker only every 9 weeks... the paychecks, though not overwhelming, sure are nicer than those measly Simoleans.
